Im considering buying either a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with acrylic platter and an Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge OR a maple wood U-Turn Orbit with acrylic platter and an Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge. I often just do it buy hand as I’ve gotten used it it, not sure why they made it this way.

The Pro-Ject have better upgrade paths and usability IMO. Project seems to be more of a balance and having several with carbon fiber, but I have yet to hear one so it’s hard for me to say. I was drawn to Pro-Ject because of the ease of upgrading, and Ive owned a Debut Carbon, a Rega P1, and a Debut Pro. Pro-ject’s turntables have long been among the most recommended options under 500 and, the 400 Debut Carbon will hit the right balance of price to performance.
